Halloween Pumpkin Carving My Boys Faces - Soooooo Easy !!

This Halloween why not try a bit of pumpkin carving? It's easier than you think and is great fun, particularly when the horror faces on show are your own children !

I show you how you can easily create DIY Carved Pumpkins with the faces of your family members. It takes about 20 minutes start to finish to carve and all you really need is a photo the right size, a pin and something fine to carve with. You can buy carving kits for a few pennies and mine has lasted me fifteen years!

First take a photo. I used my phone so I could easily transfer it to my PC. I then used the most basic software I could - Windows Paint -and drew the silhouette. You could print it out and hand draw on it too. Then print, transfer to the pumpkin and you are ready to start Pumpkin Carving for Halloween!

Use a pin to transfer the outline of your silhouette to the fruit and then use a small saw or small blade and off you go. Just take care. Once flicked out, make sure there is a hole for each 'feature' - like the eyes or ears - you only need a small tunnel of light for the fine details for them to be bright enough to see.

One candle issue and voila - after of course you have made the lid and scraped out the threads and seeds.

A DIY Carved Halloween Pumpkin is a real show stopper. You can do it with the family and I have even Carved Pumpkins of guests at a halloween party right there and then, making a fun table centre-piece.
