Transplanting Trees with Kubota L2501 with Backhoe - How to dig out Trees

Just sit back, relax with a hot cup of coffee or tea and watch me dig out some trees. In this video I'm using the Kubota L2501 with the backhoe attachment to move trees that are in the way of driveways, drainage trenches walkways and moving them to a new location. The first tree was in a drainage ditch that needs to be widened to allow more water to flow in the spring, I believe the tree is of the Buckthorn species?. Instead of clearing trees I've decided to move trees to other locations where they can be enjoyed. I've been transplanting trees with shovels and moving them on trailers for years but now with the backhoe it's much easier, you can move larger trees and get more of there roots. All trees are different when transplanting some are easier than others, some trees root systems are condensed like ceders and others grow out really wide like maples. Best time to transplant is in fall, I've had good luck moving trees the most important thing to do after transplant is to water for a couple weeks every day, also you should put water into the hole before planting, I was in a rush.
