Convert to horizontal drop outs!

This project was mostly experimental...I wanted to convert my regular vertical dropouts to horizontal dropouts (also known as track ends). I cut some steel to fill in the old dropouts and welded them shut. I then ground down the steel back to smooth and laid out my lines to cut the new track ends. The most challenging part was keeping everything straight and parallel but it all turned out better than I had hoped!
