Since the early '80s, Pakistan has seen the introduction and enactment of various laws that have changed the original pluralistic nature of society that was in its founders principles. Th0e introduction of religious identification in passports, the sharia law, and anti-blasphemy laws among others, are regulations that threaten minorities. These threats faced by Pakistani Christians stem mainly from small, yet powerful Muslim extremist groups. Their actions are neither popular nor sanctioned by the government – but they create fear.
