417 WGW - The Power of Martyrdom in Uganda

Uganda is a landlocked nation in Africa home to approximately 35 million people. The country is very diverse - over 30 ethnic groups with a variety of languages, cultural practices, traditions and historic forms of governance. Around three-quarters of Uganda’s population is below the age of 30, and there are high levels of unemployment and poverty. Uganda is also a religiously diverse nation with over 84 percent of the population Christian and about 14 percent Muslim. Christians are split nearly 50/50 between Protestants and Catholics. Mark Riedemann speaks to Fr. Simon Jude Kanyike from Kampala, Uganda about the realities of the Church in this country.
