Jethro Tull ~ Bungle In The Jungle 1974 Classic Rock Purrfection Version

Jethro Tull was formed in 1967, very much a product of the times, they started off as a blues rock and jazz fusion band. In short order, they added other elements of folk, hard rock and classical music to their progressive rock sound. Multi-instrumentalist Ian Anderson is the only constant member who mainly plays flute and is the main vocalist for the band.

Their 1974 album "War Child" was a response to the lack of interest in their previous album, "Passion Play" which became quite controversial due to the critics and fans who disliked the direction the band was taking.

"War Child" was a compilation of unfinished demos that were completed to create the album and Anderson mentions that "Bungle In The Jungle" was actually begun in early 1973 and not completed until the album was recorded.

As it went, the song piqued the interest of the record buying public and it became a #12 pop hit in 1974. They had one previous charting single "Living In The Past" that peaked at #11 in 1971.

They have been recording since then and on 17 November 2022, the band announced on their Facebook page that they had completed recording their 23rd studio album, which is expected to be released in spring 2023.
