Ribonucleotide Reductase - Reaction, Regulation, Inhibitors

Ribonucleotide reductase is such an important enzyme which converts ribose sugar to deoxyribose sugar. This makes DNA synthesis possible. DNA needs deoxyribose sugars and these deoxyribose sugars will come from the reduction of 2nd carbon hydroxyl group of ribose into deoxyribose. This type of reduction is done by ribonucleotide reductase enzyme. This video also covers the mechanism of ribonucleotide reductase, regulation of ribonucleotide reductase, substrate requirements of ribonucleotide reductase reaction and also inhibitors of ribonucleotide reductase.
