Pyruvate Carboxylase #Obligate Activator #CPS I

Pyruvate carboxylase in gluconeogenesis and carbamoylphosphate synthetase I in urea cycle needs obligate activator. #obligate activator of pyruvate carboxylase is acetyl CoA and that for carbamoylphosphate synthetase I (CPS I) in urea cycle is N-acetylglutamate (NAG). Obligate activators make sure that the enzyme that uses the available substrate is active and the reaction goes in the forward direction. These are the only two enzymes that needs obligate activator.
