The Police - Message in a Bottle (Guitar Cover)

I'm not going to lie, I found this really tough. For a long time, I have been able to play the main riff, and always assumed that I could play the full song. Well, it requires a hell of a lot more stamina in the fingers than I anticipated and it's incredibly easy to rush it and loose the groove, especially with the original probably being 5bpm faster than what I would normally play it at if I was just to jam it on my own. In the first verse I try to imitate the recording, which doesn't feature the C# on the 3rd shape. Second verse I play the cool harmony part which I think makes the riff! Third verse, I play it how I used to, using the open string to give my hand a break. I hope this vid helps highlight how to play the song. It is certainly one I will continue to practice. :)

The tone Andy has is also quite difficult to replicate but I think I found a decent balance, using the Mooer Elec Lady for that signature flange.
