Backpacking the Te Paki Coastal Track, North - New Zealand

In this video we backpack New Zealand’s northern Te Paki coastal track from Spirits Bay to Pandora Bay. Per Māori legend you may experience “apparitions” and “paranormal" occurrences at Spirits Bay. This is where it is believed that the dead leave this world to reunite with their ancestors. The expansive beach is several miles long and appears to be uninterrupted golden sand. However, upon closer examination, you see it is made up almost entirely of billions of broken seashells. Due to recent flooding the established track was not passable in places, but we were able hike the coastline during low tide to reach Pandora Bay.
