Rachel Lake - Washington State

These towering cliffs of Rampart Ridge and sculptured alpine lakes grace our Pacific crest. How this majestic oasis becomes peaceful, at one with itself late in the season. Lonely and isolated, it is embraced by the first season’s snow. Water, ever so precious once again thunders evermore downward, joining increasingly larger torrents. Now, at last nature has a chance to begin to rebalance, as it was.
