Stegosaurus Butte - Snoqualmie Middle Fork, Washington State

The summit of Stegosaurus Butte can be reached by taking a steep and frequently muddy scramblers' route that starts a short distance from the Snoqualmie Middle Fork suspension footbridge. There is a great view of Garfield, the Pulpit, and Preacher Mountains from the top. The summit has thousand foot (305 meter) tall sheer cliffs on both the east and west sides which are popular for serious technical rock climbers. During the winter the route can be challenging to navigate, but this gem is another example of what makes the central Cascade Mountains so very special.
