Shearing the ewes

Driving to work first thing with Swift on the back of the quad bike. I got the Suzuki quad and Swift and me went and got two large groups of sheep to bring back to the yard so they are ready for when the shearers arrive.

We then moved them into the handling pens where the shearers had setup. My job was to make sure they were going along the race and up onto the shearing trailer. They were not keen to go up the ramp so it was hard work moving them up! The shearers got a lot of them done before we had a quick break. After a break they finished them off and we ended up with four big bags of wool.

The shearers then packed up their stuff and headed off after lunch. It was then time to move all the ewes and lambs back out to the fields. When I was standing waiting for the first group to go into a field I was getting attacked by flies!

We got the second group out to the field and then I headed home for a rest!
