The start of Lambing 2021

Day 1
The ewes have started lambing this week. We have two sheds full of the twins and triplets who have been getting fed extra. It's a wet muddy start to the day walking up the the main sheep shed. I checked the small pens where the ewes are with their lambs then checked the larger pens for any signs of other ewes lambing. It was then time to get the quad and a trailer full of feed to start the morning feeding. One of the lambs in the small pens had it's head outside the bars so i popped it back in!

Fresh silage was delivered into the feeding troughs with the Lucas bale shredder. It was then down to the next sheep shed to feed them - they will start lambing later. I filled the trailer back up with more feed.

Up to check the hen shed where we have recently got 12,000 new hens. I emptied the muck belt too.

Day 2
Back to feeding first thing then fresh straw put down in all the pens. Into the Manitou to get some silage bales to feed the cows. We have two sheds full of cows and some calves that need fresh silage and straw each day.

Time to move some ewes and their lambs out side - the chaos begins! After 20mins they were all outside going the short journey out the shed and down the side. Back in the shed i moved the ewes and 2 day old lambs into a bigger pen. Then got the pens ready for the next ewes to lamb.
