Worming cows, eggs, more silage

I moved a group of cows from the field to the handling pens. Using the crush we wormed them all and then got them moved back out to the field.

A quick look at how we feed the 12,000 free range hens. There are two large feed bins at the side of the shed. The feed bins have an auger pipe that goes into the hen shed. The feed then drops into feeding trays that run around the whole length of the hen shed. The feeding tray has a chain type system that pull the feed through the racking system so the hens can eat whenever they want.

Onto packing all the eggs for the day. They all get stacked onto the pallets in a specific way. After putting away a full pallet of eggs i moved out all the new egg trays.

The Manitou forklift was needing diesel so i filled it up. I moved the calf feeder outside so we can start to feed the calves nuts.

It was then onto more silage...the Fendt 828 with the Krone baler was baling up all the silage. I was driving the McCormick with the trailers to get all the bales moved back to the farm yard for wrapping (using the Deutz Fahr and the Mchale bale wrapper). We had one Manitou loading the bales onto the trailer and the other Manitou taking them off to drop them onto the bale wrapper. We are now running out of space for silage bales!

A shot of the puppy and Swift at the end of the day!

Thanks for watching
