Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade 1965

I just came across two small reels of 8mm film shot at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1965. The films had a lot of issues so don't expect a Hollywood studio quality. The shots of the balloons came out pretty nice as they were well lit but the stuff on the street was really, really dark. I plan on redoing this when the upgraded light source for my scanner arrives. There were also many shots where it looks like the photographer forgot the camera was running so shots of the street, shoes, etc. - all cut out of this.

On the plus side we get to see some great balloons - Donald Duck, Underdog, Elsie the Cow - plus all sorts of signage for the Automat, Howard Johnson's Restaurant, Castro Convertible sofas, the latest movies, and other bits of a New York City long gone.
