Inflationary pressures ‘won’t be fixed’ by another rate hike
Hawker Britton Managing Director Simon Banks says the things causing inflation in the economy “won’t be fixed” by another interest rate rise.
Money market investors believe there is a 40 per cent chance of a 0.25 per cent increase by September.
“About half of Australia is doing quite well despite the interest rate rises,” Mr Banks told Sky News Australia.
“But the other half of Australia is under real stress, directly because they are paying a mortgage or indirectly because of the level of inflation.
“We have got to get the balance of those things right.”
