Prue MacSween slams government's HECS debt announcement 'Australians can't afford'

Sky News contributor Prue MacSween slams the Labor government’s announcement to wipe $3 billion from HECS debt.

“If it means that some of these kids are going to vote Labor … then they don’t care about running out this debt,” Ms Macsween told Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“We all would love the kids to not have any HECS debt, but sadly Australians can’t afford to be subsidising student university degrees.

“Smoke and mirrors from the government.

“It’s a great headline and people fall for it.”
