Auction clearance rates holding up ‘pretty firm’ ahead of RBA decision
REA Group Senior Economist Eleanor Creagh says auction clearance rates are still holding up pretty firm ahead of the Reserve Bank Australia rate decision.
Over the past week, there were 2013 auctions held across Australia, returning a clearance rate of 59.8 per cent
“That’s despite the uptick in volumes we did see over the past weekend,” she said.
“So again, reflective of that continued strength in market conditions, so all though we are starting to see the pace of price growth growing slightly in most capital city markets.
“Price growth does remain pretty firm, and conditions are particularly firm, particularly in the smaller capital city markets and Sydney."
