World Series 2019 Game 6 Watch Party at Nationals Park: Washington Wins 7-2 to Force Game 7!

I’m at the Washington Nationals World Series 2019 Game 6 Watch Party at Nationals Park. After the Astros took a 2-1 lead after the 1st inning, Adam Eaton hits a home run to tie the game at 2 in the top of the 5th inning. This is huge because the Nats scored only 1 run in Games 3-5 at home.

Home run for Juan Soto! The Nats take the lead 3-2, also in the top of the 5th.

In the top of the 7th inning, the Nationals had a totally bullshit call for runner’s interference. But 2 batters later, Rendon hits a 2-run homer!! The Nationals are now up 5-2! Three runs up going into the 7th inning stretch.

Nats got 2 more runs in the top of the 9th! It’s 7-2 now; Washington is up by 5 runs going into the bottom of the 9th in elimination Game 6 trying to tie the World Series 3 games to 3 and force a decisive Game 7.

Stephen Strasburg is still pitching to start the bottom of the 9th inning. An Astro grounds out to 2nd baseman for the first out of the final Houston at-bat. Just 2 more outs to victory! Strasburg, to the crowd’s disappointment, is taken out of the game.

Relief pitcher Sean Doolittle is in to get the last 2 outs. Houston batter flies out to left field. Nats are just 1 more out from a big win! 1 more out! 1 more out! Ugh, an Astro hits a double off the wall to live at least one more batter.

The final Astros hitter faces a full count, then flies out to the 2nd baseman. NATS WIN! NATS WIN! GAME 7 BABY! The crowd at Nationals Park goes wild. Final score 7-2 Washington. It’s the first time in World Series history that the visiting team has won the first 6 games! Wow.
