Tour of Plane During United’s Final Boeing 747 Flight from IAD

During the final flight of a United Airlines Boeing 747 from Washington Dulles International Airport, I take a tour of the entire aircraft, including the flight-attendant rest area in the rear of the plane. It has six rest bunks and two old Business Class seats. Facts about the 747 are read on the intercom as I make my way toward the Polaris First Class cabin at the front of the main deck. We’ve flown southwest from Northern Virginia to western North Carolina, then east toward Wilmington, and make a turn to the left to begin our return to IAD as I wait in line to tour the upper deck.
