Greta and the Dark Cloud

“Greta and the Dark Cloud” written by Lana Simkins, illustrated by Alina Shabelnyk, www.lanasimkins.com, Canada, Copyright 2019. A book about overcoming weather-related anxiety.

Wanting to take it a step further? Are you a caregiver or work with children? You might try this activity to go with “Greta and the Dark Cloud”: Weather certainly can be stressful and in the event of severe weather warnings and watches, we need to make sure we are in as safe a place as possible. Weather can also be fun and exciting! If a rainfall doesn’t involve thunder and lightning – feel free to go out and splash in the puddles! How big of a splash can you make? Wearing rainboots is a plus in this activity😊 Be on the look-out for rainbows while you are out there! And if the rain and temperature feels warm enough – consider dancing in the rain in your swimsuit! It can be so fun! Rainbows are such a beautiful symbol of hope—a reminder that physical and emotional storms do pass. If you would benefit from a daily reminder of hope, try making this rainbow and hang it in a place where you might see it every day. https://youtu.be/fmtC1Cm4N4k
