Progression:
This exercise may be progressed by using a stronger band before moving on to the more challenging exercises discussed below.
Common mistakes:
Ensure that the target leg is stable. Client/patient's who do not use the opposite foot to affix the leg may compensate by using their adductors to maintain position. This could thwart attempts to correct movement impairment by exacerbating the commonly noted over-activity of the adductors.
Research Note:
"Adduction/inversion" (foot in) is likely more important than plantar flexion during this exercise.
