I SURPRISED MY HUSBAND WITH A NEW GIRLFRIEND?

Hi LitJam! It was time for Avri to get her hair done. Avri has been on a natural hair journey for over 2 years now but it's her first time getting her hair done at a shop in a long time. We've been on a money-saving journey for a while and one thing we've cut out is the hair dresser/barber because those are things we can save on by doing them ourselves or with the help of family. But this time, Avri wanted to get Simas' reaction to her new hairstyle!

We came to New York to visit Avri's mom in Brooklyn and we are pressed for time and Avri found a new hairstyle she wanted to try. The hairstyle is called knotless braids and the hair is braided onto your own hair. It pulls less and it looks good too.

The shop is called Hawa Hair Braiding and is located at 5009 Snyder Ave in Brooklyn, NY, on the corner of Utica Ave in East Flatbush. The hair took only about 4 hours to get done, which is very fast for natural Afro textured hair, especially 4c hair. The women at the shop are from Nigeria and Mali in West Africa, so Avri felt like she was right at home.

Avri then surprised her husband with her new hairstyle! See his reaction to my new hairstyle! Basically, I surprised my boyfriend with a new girl for him. Or actually, meet my new girlfriend (from Simas' perspective!). I did a makeover for him and this is what it looks like - a brand new wife!
