So far I’ve been told I jinxed my miscarriage by telling family, I shouldn’t have been working out, I should have gotten a second opinion, I shouldn’t be sharing about my miscarriage online, it wasn’t even a real baby …. The list is endless. These are both from people I know and love and from my DM’s. It’s very important that we understand it is not the woman’s fault for causing her miscarriage. I want to scream this from the roof tops!!!! my suggestion for reaching out to someone who has recently had a miscarriage “I’m so sorry for your loss. I know there are no words to fix this, but please let me know how I can best support your family right now.” Everyone handles grief differently. Maybe someone wants to share their story and have someone to sit down with or maybe someone wants to escape reality for the night and watch how to lose a guy in 10 days and eat popcorn on the couch with you.
