Dr. Joe DeMarco, chiropractor and owner of OcraMed Health, discusses a common injury. Neck pain. Often times, your left or right sided neck pain is the result of tightness in your levator scapulae muscle. This muscle can build up fascial adhesions and restrictions from exercise. It can also build up adhesions from sitting at a desk all day working on your computer or staring at your phone.
Dr. Joe explains the anatomy of the levator scapulae muscle. He then demonstrates how to warm up the levator scapulae and perform light levator scapulae stretches.
Next, Dr. Joe demonstrates how to perform fascial release work on the levator scapulae using a Tai Chi Ball from www.ocramedhealth.com. This type of fascial release work is easy to perform and will provide quick relief to your levator scapulae and neck pain.
