Kiss, Bon Jovi, Iron Maiden, Midnight Oil. are interviewed by host Stu Jeffries for the CBC Vancouver TV series GOOD ROCKIN' TONITE in 1988. Formed in 1973, KISS members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley talk about new fans and marriage. From New Jersey, Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, Tico Torres, David Bryan moved tentatively to Vancouver in 1986 to record Bon Jovi's breakthrough and the Top Selling LP of 1987, Slippery When Wet. They first talk about their favourite watering hole, strip joint #5 Orange Street, Vancouver. Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden talks about their 1988 concept album, "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, " their first #1 LP in the UK since "The Number of the Beast." The massive hit "Beds are Burning" by the Australian band Midnight Oil is a protest song about giving native Aussie lands back to the Pintupi aboriginals, as explained passionately by lead singer Peter Garrett. These 'last contact' people began moving from the Gibson Desert to settlements and missions in 1930s Australia.
