A great videos for your students if you are teaching them with Zoom. This takes them through all the basic settings they need to know about when teaching online. It covers things like sharing links, using the IWB, opening chat while watching a video, annotations, and even how you can jump from one share to another. So this is ideal both for basic level information but also includes some ADVANCED ideas.

If you are working with Zoom and need your students to understand how Zoom works, then this video will really help them. I suggest you share it with your students. It covers all the key points so for example

How to screen share
How to use the IWB and annotate
How to jump from one screen share to another
How to share video content
How to use the chat window when you are screen sharing
How to maximise and minimise the screen
How to work with shared links

I have found that all these skills are really important when teaching online. If students don't know how to do these things then it is actually hard to deliver an effective online class. Students need to be involved in the process, especially when working in breakout rooms. They need to know how to work in groups and how they can take notes.

Many teachers don't realise for example, that you can have multiple students annotating on the IWB at the same time. This can be very effective in getting your students more engaged in the learning process by making it more interactive. Zoom offers this very useful option

It is also possible to open up the chat window when you are doing any sort of screensharing. For example you might be watching a video and want to share ideas or you might be going over a PPT and want to share info in the chat window. I use the chat window in Zoom a lot.

Many teachers don't realise that wth Zoom it is also possible to jump from one screen share to another one. You don't have to go back to the main windown and then screen share again. You can actually jump from one screen share to another and this can really help to make sessions interesting because you can watch a video and then jump to the IWB. Again this really helps to make the sessions more interactive and more engaging.
