This is ideal if you are teaching online and you want to record a lecture, record yourself talking over a picture, a document or whatever. Zoom can do this and you also have the option to include a webcam in the video too. so you can be talking over a PowerPoint slide but also include yourself on the video.

The important thing to learn when recording with Zoom is how to make use f the pause, record and stop buttons. It is actually quite useful to learn the short cuts that you can use too as this makes the recording flow easier.

You are not limited to doing just one recording. You can do multiple recordings in one Zoom session. Each video will be saved in the Zoom file which will be in your documents under Zoom. One important thing to remember is that the file will be compresses and ready, only after you close the Zoom room down. So once you have finished making your recordings. Close down Zoom and you will see that immediately it begins to compress the Zoom recordings so that they are ready to share online. There is nothing else to do. You can upload your recordings to YouTube, to your Google Drive or where ever you decide to share your recordings.

You can't edit in Zoom. It is only a basic recorder but it is very useful and the fact that it compresses and saves the videos is very useful and makes them easy to share. You do not need to use the paid tool to do this. You can record with Zoom even if you use the free tool. It is an ideal tool for a cheap way to produce online learning content with your students that you can upload easily.
