The Magic Replicator App

Whilst browsing through new apps, a new magic replicator app caught my eye. Apparently it can duplicate any object just using a normal smart-phone - an app almost everyone would find incredibly useful. I thought I'd put it through its paces.

The app does unfortunately have an annoying feature...

Hopefully you'll have realised that this short sketch isn't quite 100% real, and perhaps there's some camera trickery going on. My current video editor cannot easily do masking out of certain areas, so I've had to use a couple of other techniques involving video overlays to get the desired effect, but it seems to have come out quite well and hopefully you won't be able to spot the joins!

In case you're wondering, the paper backdrop when looking at the objects is nothing to do with the effect - it's purely there as I was getting too much light reflection from the table-top alone.
