*About this video:*
. Doing His Thing came out in May 1969, a mere three months after Ray's last album, "I’m All Yours Baby!" Unlike his other 1960s albums, Doing His Thing features energetic R&B, and nothing else. In that sense, it’s a return to Ray's famous 1950s style when he was with Atlantic Records.

Although only Ray Charles is credited as the artist, Doing His Thing is really a collaboration: every song was written or cowritten by Jimmy Lewis, who also sings on some of them. Ray Charles does oversee and dominate the album, though.

Only one song from the album appeared as the A-side of a single: "We Can Make It". The B-side of that single is the non-LP "I Can’t Stop Loving You Baby" (also by Jimmy Lewis).

Doing His Thing is a fun party record full of lean, cool, R&B rock.
