. Through the Eyes of Love was released in August 1972 – a mere three months after Ray's previous album, A Message From the People. This one is still sealed. This is one of Ray’s much mocked album covers of the 1965 to 1975 era. Despite all this, and the album being barely 30 minutes long, it’s one of my favorites.

Ray performs in several styles, his sonorous voice tying the songs together. Only one single was released from Through the Eyes of Love: "I Can Make It Through the Days (But Oh Those Lonely Nights)", in April 1973. That single's B-side was a cover of Johnny Cash’s "Ring of Fire" from the 1970 Love Country Style album. A 1969 non-LP B-side, "Someone to Watch Over Me", is also on this album, in a new mix.

The highlight of Through the Eyes of Love is the six-minute "Rainy Night in Georgia". Affordable copies are not rare.
