Labor putting ‘ideology ahead of price’ with the party’s energy policy

Shadow Finance Minister Jane Hume says Labor has put “ideology ahead of price” when it comes to the party’s energy policy.

“People are paying way too much for their electricity bills,” she told Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.

“Cheap, affordable energy has been one of the foundations of – particularly my state of Victoria’s – economic prosperity for decades.

“That’s been cast aside.”

Mr Hume said nuclear energy is one option to reach net zero and seems it “ideological belligerence” not to consider it into the energy mix.
