International Women’s Day is 'offensive and tokenistic': Prue MacSween

Sky News contributor Prue MacSween has called International Women's Day a “tokenistic” gesture.

Ms MacSween and Media Commentator Melissa Hoyer joined Sky News host Danica De Giorgio to discuss whether or not we need International Women’s Day.

Ms MacSween criticised the national day saying she finds it totally “offensive and tokenistic”.

“There’s a day for every bloody thing,” she said.

“This is a marketing exercise this is an opportunity for corporates to prove how woke they are.

“It's virtual singling.”
