Cannabis exposure lowering socio determinants of health, says doctor

University of Notre Dame head of general practice Dr Charlotte Hespe increased exposure to cannabis is creating a lower social determinative among the younger generation.

Ms Hespe’s comments come as the Greens push for the total de-criminalisation for recreational use.

“Some multicentre reviews actually show that there is incredibly increased risk exposure,” she said.

“What’s really sad is that the lower socio determinants of health actually drops.

“With increased exposure to cannabis, we are actually seeing a generation that is actually now at a lower social determinative health than their parents were.”
