Treating Social Anxiety: Cognitive Strategies

Social anxiety is something that everyone experiences - but some of us have more of it than others. When it becomes an issue, how do therapists deal with it? Cognitive behavioural therapists tend to take a two-pronged approach, and in this video we consider one of those prongs: Cognitive work. We look at the thoughts underlying the fear, how strongly we believe them, how we are allocating our attention, and whether there might be a more effective - and realistic - way of looking at things.
