Placebo Control Trials: The Unblinding Problem

The Double Blind is a basic element of a placebo control trial: Neither the person taking the medication nor the person prescribing it should know which condition anyone is in. But many trials are not as blind as they are supposed to be: Research subjects usually figure out which condition they are in. How? The answer is so simple, you'll kick yourself for not getting it.
