Honeybee Sugar cake For Mid-winter Needs
Now that you are mid winter and have used the insurance board / candy board feeding, you may have noticed during your minor inspections that the colonies have eaten a portion of the candy. What if your colony has eaten more than half of it? How do you augment it? A colony without enough feed will starve and die. In this video, I have found a way to make a solid sugar cake quickly and add it to your hive to ensure there is adequate feed to make it to spring.
