Beekeeping- The Starving Barn Bees Cutout -July 2017
I received a phone call from a friend who knew of a barn with a colony in it. The farm manager was contacted and indeed want the bee removed. After assessing the barn and seeing what materials were needed, I developed a game plan for the hive removal. I solicited the help from my friend and fellow beekeeper Hudson and were able to remove the colony and put everything back together in a 3 hour time span. The bees were taken back to the Farmstead, fed with 1:1 sugar water and they perked back up. Colony is attempting to be overwintered in the fall/winter of 2017.
