Top 20 Indian States Ranked By Human Development Index (1990 - 2018)

A video a lot of you had requested is finally out! While GDP only gives an idea of the economic value, #HDI or Human Development Index tries to tell us about other human factors like education and health also. HDI was coined by Indian economist Amartya Sen and the Pakistani economist Mahbub-ul-Haq. It helps us quantify the non-economic aspects of development.

We notice how states like #Kerala, #Manipur, #Mizoram, #Nagaland and #Goa rank the highest in this metric. It is also seen that the Human Development Index usually favours states with high education, low population and high quality of life.
