ABANDONED Folkestone Harbour Branch Line, or is it?
I take a look at the now pedestrianised railway viaduct on the Folkestone Harbour branch line plus a sneaky look at the abandoned track further up. The Folkestone Harbour line was officially closed in 2014 but hasn’t seen any train action since 2009 except for the occasional test train up to 2014. The Folkestone Harbour Company has undertaken a lot of restoration work on the viaduct and swing bridge which is now partially open to the public as a pedestrian route to the harbour. The old tracks are still in place. The renovated station is due to be opened later on in 2018. It's nice to see something positive come from a closed railway line.
