Folkestone Heyday-More archive photos and footage from the late 1950's

The world's become a horrible place since 9/11 and everyday seems to bring more rules regulations and political correctness. So it was good to put this clip together of a more relaxed time in history, a time when if you were lucky enough to have a car there was acres of road space and if not you had a cheap reliable transport system of trains buses trolleybuses all running frequently and no doubt you could have got a cheap day return to get to Folkestone to enjoys its delights as they were then. No we didn't have the internet, TV was black and white but we did have still camera's and cine camera's to record the passing scene thank goodness. So I hope you enjoy this very brief four minute time capsule of a place which I will always hold dear in my heart.

I have just read that you stand more chance of being killed by cancer from radiation from the full body scanners now being introduced in airports than being killed by a terrorist - give me a break !
