My name is Michael Beasley. I am a physician assistant, and I went into healthcare basically with a passion for medicine that started in West Africa of all places. Met my wife in college, and we went over to Africa with a doctor, and we did malnutrition work with under five children, and I actually graduated with an education degree and found a passion for medicine there, working with that doctor. So came back to the US for school and I've been practicing for the past four and a half years. Newly married, starting a program or an organization in a brand new, basically brand new world, it was definitely heart-wrenching with some of the things that we saw with the poverty level and all that in Africa, but it was definitely a moment in my life where it changed not only how I looked at the world, but also what I could do to be a part of the solution with world problems and being able to show compassionate care and be able to be there in the world where there's pain and offer a solution. So it kind of jump-started my medicine career.

I've had a great experience with pediatrics up to geriatrics in my last job, so I have good experience there. My philosophy for care is just showing compassion, having open communication with all of my patients where they feel listened to, heard, and cared for. Also, there's a level of trust and integrity there to provide high quality healthcare, no matter who you are, no matter where you're from.

Love spending time with my family and friends, especially wife and kids. We love all outdoor stuff, so we love to camp and hike and kayak and to spend a lot of time outdoors. Still try to play basketball as much as I can, so I try to do that a couple times a week. So just staying active. Love to read and contemplate nature as well.
