Hello, my name's Sara Seifert. I'm a physician assistant. I do what I do because I really enjoy helping people. I enjoy helping them understand what's going on with them medically and what we can do about it to make them better. But I am a physician assistant, which is a medical provider that helps to diagnose and treat patients under a supervising physician. I am there primarily in my practice to help patients who have neck or back pain or other spine-related complaints.

I would say my patient care philosophy is just to treat people the way that I would want to be treated as a patient. I think as medical providers, we've all been on the other side and have felt some of the frustration or concern when you don't feel like you're being listened to or you don't understand what's being said. And so I try to make sure that my patients leave feeling like they have been understood and that I explained everything to them before they left.

I'm originally from Syracuse, New York, and then I went to college in Ithaca, New York, and then graduate school in Philadelphia. I moved here 17 years ago. I fell in love with Louisville and then met my husband and we really enjoy it here. I went to Cornell University for my undergraduate degree and Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine for my graduate degree.

For fun, my husband and I really enjoy spending time with our son on the weekends and evenings. We really enjoy anything outdoors, biking, hiking, just being in the woods. Anytime that we can get with him is great.
