In this video I take apart the 85kWh battery pack that I removed from our 2013 Tesla Model S 85 in last weeks video. To make it easy I installed a replacement battery pack from our salvage Model S into the 201,000 mile Tesla that we still drive. And I'm using this pack for our solar system. Actually I need the individual modules out of this pack. The Tesla Modules are nominal 24V and lend itself perfectly for a 48V nominal inverter system. But first this pack has to come apart and that's definitely time consuming. Especially doing it outdoors with frequent rain. I did get myself some safety gloves with leather over gloves in order to work safely on the high voltage components. Once the modules are separated the voltage is down to a safe level that no longer requires the gloves to be worn.
