We just purchased this 2013 Tesla Model S with 192000 miles on it. Now we have to drive it from Portland Oregon to Montana, about 600 miles. We'll use the Tesla Navigation and charge at Tesla Superchargers. The 85KWh battery packs do have a restriction on fast charging and usually charge much slower than any other Tesla. We found that to be true, but still did not feel like we had to wait extra long for charging. We stopped at every Supercharger, but could have skipped one or two of them if we would have charged to a higher state of charge. In order to save time we kept the battery SOC low so it would charge faster. Even with the extra stops we were faster than charging higher and skipping Superchargers.
