Grandma's jam sponge cake - eggless

Grandma's jam sponge cake - eggless - soft, delicious sponge cake with unique taste because of the jam. It is inexpensive, incredibly fast and easy to make 😍😍

Ingredients:

7 oz (200 ml) sunflower oil
1 3/4 cup (350 g) sugar
1 1/2 cup (350 ml) milk
juice of a lemon
zest of a lemon
3 3/4 cup (450 g) all-purpose flour
3 tsp (12 g) baking powder
4 tbsp (28 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
3 oz (90 g) jam - i used peach jam, with apricot jam is also great

powdered sugar for dusting

Grease and flour 10-inch baking pan and line bottom with parchment paper.
Preheat oven to 350 F (180 C).
Beat together oil and sugar.
Add milk and mix well to combine.
Stir in juice and zest of a lemon.
In another bowl, stir together flour and baking powder. Stir in cocoa.
Add jam to oil mixture, mix well then gradually add flour mixture.
Stir couple of times with spatula as well.
Pour the mixture into prepared baking pan.
Stir with a toothpick or skewer to release air bubbles.
Bake in preheated oven for about 40 minutes.
Cool the cake slightly then sprinkle with powdered sugar.
