Dire Strait's Mark Knopfler is host David Foster's guest along with John Parr & Rob Lowe on GOOD ROCKIN' TONITE. In the 5 weeks following host Terry David Mulligan's departure from the CBC Vancouver TV series "Good Rockin' Tonite" in 1985, Foster, Bruce Allen, Loverboy, Platinum Blonde and Stu Jeffries (who became host) filled in. Canadian music executive, record producer , composer, songwriter, musician & singer David Foster composed the film score for "St Elmo's Fire" starring Rob Lowe. He also produced & co-wrote with Bryan Adams & others the 1985 charity song "Tears Are Not Enough," Canada's #1 song in 1985. Born in Victoria, British Columbia, David has won 16 Grammy Awards. Popular British group Dire Straits' 1985 LP "Brothers-in -Arms" sold millions and was the first CD to sell a million.
