Cheap 4 Ingredient Beef Stew & long but surprisingly relaxing video
I used an old Samsung HMX- HF90 camcorder to record myself making a simple, hearty, and cheap 4 ingredient beef stew. I used half a can of corned beef, 3 potatoes, a large onion, and a can of tomatoes from Walmart.
I also added a few spices like Italian seasoning and a teaspoon of oil in a nonstick pan.
This is a beef stew but if you add a lot of leftovers it becomes a slumgullion which was an old name for leftover low-cost stew.
The taste is better than it looks and actually improves over time.
I hope you guys like this one and if you do I will start doing more low cost 4 ingredient recipes. I know a lot of people don't have much money right now. I grew up poor and have a lot of old low-cost comfort food recipes some of you guys might enjoy.
Please check out my cooking video playlist. I have a lot of videos I like of other YouTube cooks plus my own cooking videos.

The camera I used today for the first time is the Samsung HMX-HF90. I bought it several years ago due to its rare ability to record multiple shots on one single file. That way you can theoretically shoot a video while editing in-camera by planning your shots and have a finished video when you are done without having to download the video to a video editor and rearrange scenes, Etc. Today is the first day I have used the Samsung and its pause recording feature.
The HF90, unfortunately, will only pause without starting another file for 5 minutes, which I remembered. However, I forgot the maximum file size it will make is 20 minutes and 45 seconds. When my video got over 20 minutes it would not allow me to pause and appeared to be continuing to record. the only way I could stop it was to remove the battery. I lost the last minute of my recording. I also noticed some poor audio, in the beginning, I think my mouth was too close to the mike and when I moved my head to one side it stopped picking up the audio.
This was an experiment. I think the video was too long and there are a lot of improvements that can be made but I think the camera has potential for future DIY tutorials or cooking videos which would improve a lot with just a little more planning and experience with the camera.
