❌ BE CAREFUL when you order THIS in Italy ☕

Have YOU made this mistake? ☕️😲

If you order a “latte” in an Italian bar, you’ll get just that latte, which means milk in Italian!

To ask for a coffee with milk, you have 2 options:

1. “un caffè macchiato”, an espresso, to which a milk cream is added which "stains" the intense hazelnut color of the coffee

OR ask for…
2. “un caffè latte”, an espresso with hot milk, usually served in a glass.

If you’re been walking all day and hai sete (“you are thirsty”) and you ask for a lemonade in Italy, they will often answer you: “hot or cold?” because in Italy a lemonade is just lemon juice with sugar and water.

If you want a fizzy drink, you have to say “uno sprite” or “a tonica”.
